Mary Ann grew up in a small city in California doing crafts at a very young age, graduating to more detailed art work throughout high school. After raising two sons she picked up her dream of doing art again in 2003 with the loving support and encouragement of her children, parents and husband. Though focusing now on pastels she still offers her hand painted work on ceramics, glass, metal and tote bags.

"Rather long tails, short tails or no tail at all, I've always loved animals, and what woman doesn't love flowers. It was only recently that I discovered the wonderful medium of pastels and decided to focus my attention on pets, botanicals and wildlife, link. With this medium I focus on capturing the beautiful tones and textures of my subject.“
Working from reference photographs, Mary Ann recognizes details and the importance of the subject to her customer. Her goal is to bring out the soul or essence of the subject.
